Title: THE PECKING ORDER
16 x 20 Mixed Media Collage
The Pecking Order detail mixed media collage
I have had photos of some pigeons for sometime...they finally made it into my paint. I love the way they sort of meander in circles, looking at the ground and peck as rapid as possible, trying to beat each other to the bread crumbs that Kayla and Skyler tossed at them. I love the way some stood sooo still waiting for the next toss of the crumbs. I wanted to catch the feeling of the pecking frenzy in the painting. I wanted the textures to be busy as were the pigeons. The line work kind of catches the feeling of the short circular paths that they take while pecking away. All in all I loved painting this, and am ready to do more.
This painting is available for purchase.
NOTE: I WILL BE POSTING MOST OF MY ART WORK AND CLASS INFORMATION ON THIS SITE AND ARTISAN JEWELRY ON MY OTHER SITE.
Thank you for following.

Simple bangles made from vintage lace, and a touch of bling. What summer bride wouldn't want to wear these. These and many more bangles and necklaces will be available for purchase at the Shopping Extravaganza during Art Unraveled.
See you there...stay out of the heat.

Title: THE JOURNEY HOME
Tomorrow is day four of the Free Play Mixed Media Workshop for Art League West. Everyone is doing a great job at creating outside their comfort zone. Tomorrow I will demonstrate on how a planned painting can change it's course while we are not even looking, and, sometimes it happens sooner than we think. I will also lecture on how we should be open to the possibilities of allowing these changes to happen and how to go with it's flow.
Thanks guys, you are doing a great job.
Sorry about the copyright watermarks I am adding to my photos,
hope it is not a distraction.

Free Play Mixed Media Collage, day one class, started last Wednesday...we worked on design basics, prepared collage papers, made original stamps, and issued homework for the students. I will evaluate the homework first thing on day two, March 14th. The students went home with an overload of information. Day two will be more relaxed, I promise....we will concentrate on combining paint and collage. Lots to learn in a four day workshop, thanks guys, you are a fun bunch of good artists. The above collage is to inspire you.

This is Rebecca wearing some of my art jewelry... sorry Becky for not showing all of your pretty face. It was between you or the jewelry and the jewelry won this time, not to worry, you have a gorgeous neck, and, did you know you have writing on your tee?
The top photo shows her wearing a ton of embellished brass bangles. From the left, she is wearing a funky tattered fabric necklace. It all started with a teeny scrap of fabric with drawings of cats. (no I never throw anything away) Next she is wearing a chunky turquoise necklace with a hand painted pendant, and last a necklace with an assembled icon pendant, hand made brass chain links and a white vintage enamel flower.
Comments (we all love getting them), are welcome, but if you have a problem
posting a comment, as others have, please drop me an email.
