Took a break from the pile of jeans you can see here to play with paper. This 5x5 collage is made from encaustic, monoprints, and handmade faux parchment papers. I think my muse is glued to my hip...
While working on a collage, an ear like shape appeared on the background...I saw it fitting to draw some features, and Viola... Mr. Mucho Macho was born.
Except for the small images in the front, and the one arm saguaro cactus, this small watercolor painting was done without the aid of a paint brush. This and other textural techniques will be the emphasis of a workshop series being held in Fort Collins, Colorado November 6 - 8, 2009. You are invited to attend. I love making small pieces of art. This little gem is only 5 x 5 . There are many layers to this painting. I used Watercolor, acrylics ,pastels, and colored pencils.
